First of all I would like to thank you for your in interest in this site. I hope that your decision to study Russian will help you greatly in your future life.

My name is Darya Bestuzheva. I have been teaching Russian for more that 6 years and managed to create an extremely interesting and efficient approach to the Russian language acquisition. I'm currently teaching Russian in State University of New York.

No doubt that a mere study of gammatical rules and vocabulary can not provide a profound language acquisition. Since any language is a socio-cultural portray of the nation and of the country I suggest studying language through culture. So you can attain two goals at once! You will learn not only  how to speak Russian, but also how to understand Russian mentalitty that will promote successfull commuinication.

In 2001 I won one of the two grants offered by International University in Moscow that covered all 5-year-long study expences at the first Russian-American University in Moscow. As a student I was majoring in linguistics, foreign language acquisition and cross-cultural communication. Professor E. Brizgunova who first outlined the theory of Russian for foreigners (RKI) was the supervisor and scientific advisor of my course. I graduated from the University in 2006 with diploma with honors.

I began to teach Russian first at the Univerity supporting American students and then continued teaching as a private tutor and a teacher in a swiss language school Liden&Denz. In 2009 I was employed by International University. In 2011 I moved to the U.S. to teach Russian in SUNY.

For several years I have been working in private business and educational companies. That enables me to know the business society from inside and teach business Russian and business culture.
